Why can’t I locate my Scottish/Irish Ancestors?

Although we have recently added some Scottish Census Transcriptions 1841 to 1901 to our Census record collection, we mostly cover England and Wales. A Diamond level subscription will also provide access to the following Scottish records, Directories from 1773 to 1930, Landowner Records, Parish Registers, School/College/University Registers, Military records, Rolls of Honour, Occupational records, Peerage/Heritage records, Almanacs and Wills.

Unfortunately Scottish organisations are reluctant to provide Scottish data to non Scottish organisations.

We have tried on numerous occasions to obtain this data however we have been unsuccessful.

In order to view Scottish BMDs it is usually best to go directly to a Scottish organisation.
